I just bought my 96 A4 and the sunroof won't open. When I turn the switch either way it just makes a quiet clicking noise but doesn't move? Any ideas?

 

sounds like you've got a burnt out sunroof motor if you're hearing a clicking noise.

 

Ha I was hoping you wouldn't say that. How much would one cost me??$$

 

I have a motor for the sun roof out of a 99 i think its the same and ill sell you mine

 

or u could open ur driver door take off that panel take out the manual over ride tool and do it liek that

 

go to a local audi shop....a new motor is like $100....i had that same problem with my '96 A4

 

or i can sell you mine for cheaper than that lol, and you can save a bunch by fixing it your self

 

if you can hear it click the motor/sun roof is stuck and might need a little assistance like using the manual tool as suggested then get it lubricated, the click if coming from the motor area means its working but just stuck (always run the engine when operating the sunroof) it give the power a good boost
