Surging sensation, coil pack failed, connection?
Question:
Do people typically experience a surging sensation before one of their coil packs goes out?
Story:
I had one of my coil packs go out yesterday. I had my oil changed at the dealership about a month ago, ever since then my car hasn’t felt as strong performance wise, I am chipped by the way APR 91 Octane. Three days ago while I was accelerating from 40-80mph the car felt incredibly slow, and then two days ago when I accelerated from 30-60, I noticed a strong surging sensation. I took it to Achtuning / Hartmann wheels right down the street from my work. They checked for codes and came up with nothing, they suggested that I try to eliminate some of the variables and come back to them; their thought was my N75 valve. As I was driving away and accelerating my CEL came on intermittently so I went back to check for codes, Misfire code had been thrown. Took it to the dealer and got my coil pack changed, under warranty, fixed etc. etc.
So again to re-iterate my question, is there a possibility that the surging was due to the coil pack failing or is it more then likely that my N75 valve is going bad as well?
Thanks,
Alan

If you have a misfire, it will cause a surging feeling. Usually when one coil pack fails, the other 3 arent far behind. If your N75 was failing youd probably have a fault code that relates to it.
