Default Suspension or brake issue?

Ok so the front brakes needed to be done badly... I pick up some OEM Pads and Rotors, and did the job myself. Easy.

It's been a good 800 miles since the swap, and they are STILL squealing. And now they squeak worse than before, when I come to a stop. Awesome. I love it. Is this normal???

AND... I'm not sure if it's my brakes or the drivers side suspension, but when I go over bumps it sounds like theres metal hitting metal from the left wheel well area... any ideas? I think someone else posted a question similar, but no replies... brakes or suspension? Thanks for the help guys!

You are a smart man... but i'm a step ahead of ya. I already tried the E-Brake but thats got nothin. No squeak. I know this b/c when pulling up to a place where there are ppl around I will actually slow myself down w/ the E-Brake haha...

the clunking sound of metal hitting when going over bumps could be due to loose tie rod ends. that seems to be a fairly common problem in Audis.

i'm just behind you on the needing to replace pads and rotors and looking at also buying oem . and i also have a clunking noice when i hit biger bumps in the roads .. i just bought it so i'm going to have a dealer look at it and i'll let you know if the tie rod ends where the problem or not .... i had another car once taht did that same things "clunk" and it was tie rods i believe ... just had to be tightened... hopefully an easy fix ...

Yea that would be great! Let me know what they tell you the problem is. I might tear my car apart today and look a little further into what the issue might be. Hopefully if anything it's loose tie rods....

Sir_daft, I recently experienced that same metal on metal sound only when I hit bumps. Under any other circumstance I cannot hear the noise, but I also noticed when I press my brakes when hitting bumps I didn't hear that painful noise. It almost sounded as if the caliper was dangling over the rotor. I pulled my driver side front wheel off took the caliper off and refitted or opened the clamps on the inside pad so it would fit snug in the piston. In this case that was the cure for the metal on metal noise I was hearing. Try pressing your brakes when going across a bump and C if you hear that same noise. I thought it was a tie rod as well, but dealership chek my suspension about a week ago for my 40K service and said the suspension was ok. I feel ya on that noise, its a painful sound. Good luck !!

I found the issue! The cliggity clang noises came from there not being a clip holding the caliper together. Interesting seeing as though I put it on when I did the brakes last week.... anyone know where I can pick one up?? (drivers side caliper clip)
