Default Suspension question!..

I have recently replaced my control arm and If I replace the right rear shock will it balance out both tires or just the right side? It's a 99 a4 quattro.

My tires are pretty much lined up like this \ \ looking at it from the rear. The right shock seems to be busted.

Shocks should be replaced in pairs.
Check & make sure the springs are not broken. The springs are more responsible for ride height then the shocks.

Well the thing is I was in an accident where some guy hit my rear right tire bent my upper control arm and snapped the tire rod. I've changed both of those and now the tires are set crooked still and there's a weird grinding noise coming from the back. I also noticed the shock did bend as I replaced the the control arm.

It sounds like the car should go to a alignment shop once all the bent parts are replaced. If the wheels are pointing in the wrong direction , more than likely something is still bent!
As far as the noise it is possible you could have a bad wheel bearing.

I found metal shavings once I took off the tire again. And I found that there were more bent parts. Looks like a new suspension is going down. Lol. But it'll make my car better. Do You know where I can find instructions to help.
