Suspension question
ok well in april/may when the weather gets nicer im planning on getting rims and maby suspension for my car. im still deciding weather i want coilovers or springs and shocks. my car currently has a sport package on it but if i decide to go 18 it might look a little weard. i was talking to a friend and he said that if i do lower my car that im going to have to spend extra money on getting **** realigned and he said im going to have to do a number of thigns to make shure the car is driving right and that its gonna cost some $$$. Is this true? if so whats it gonna cost? thanks

RE: Suspension question
After you get new suspension installed you need to get a 4 wheel alignment. If you put 18's on a A4 with the "sport" suspension it should look ok. However with my car, (non sport susp.) my new 18s look bad because there is too much wheel gap and it rides really high. The sport is around .75 inches lower than the non sport.

RE: Suspension question
Are you seriously going to blow a few thousand on your suspension/wheels and then complain about having to get an alignment for $200?
Don't get the alignment, then you can go blow $600-$800 on four brand new tires in a few months after they wear unevenly.....not to mention your car handling worse instead of better due to your tires pointing in at each other instead of straight ahead.

RE: Suspension question
it also depends on how much you lower you car. my crappy h&r sport spring didn't lower my car enough to need an alignment. caster/camber are still top notch and all 4 tires are wearing evenly. just depends on what you do.

RE: Suspension question
if you want to be able to see a difference in height you will need to get race springs. otherwise just replacing the shocks and springs it could even raise it. i am thinking about getting coilovers cuz you can adjust it as you please.
