can u swap out a whole steering wheel from a 1999 audi a4. i have a 1996 audi a4 i like the 99 steering wheels and i luv there keys it reminds me of the 07 sabb i don't know much about cars im only 17. i found a whole steering wheel with the keys and everything from a savage yard for 100 bucks i wanna get it if i can use it. will everything plug in the right place? they look almost the same here's a pic of my audi what i did i want a new steering wheel and can u use the 99 dash also? Oh yeah i stripped the whole car myself it had water damage

 

wow so no one knows if u can? i dont mind the hard work of putting and taking one out i wanna know if u can or not

 

Well i found out it is possible and its very easy to do. 5 bolts basically hold the whole steering column on. there was a trick part you will run into and thats disconnecting it from the steering rail. what you do is unbolt it and turn it to the right and it should pop right our DO NOT TURN TO THE LEFT it will only tighten the bolt. Here's some pictures of when it was done took me about 20 minutes. And dam do i love the newer keys.

Heres a pic of the Key diff and why i changed the steering columns Another good reason is that The 1999 column has more tilt options and there keys look sweet Plus u can use any Steering wheel from 1999 and up.
