Default switching

Hey guys im going to switch to mobil 1 0-40, this is the first time ive ever used a synthetic oil in any of my cars so i was just wondering what oil change intervals u guys do...right now i use regular castrol 5-30 and i change it at round the usual 3000, ive heard u can go longer with synthetic...so i was thinking maybe 4000 between changes? Wondering what u guys recommend

My stealership told me 15K with synth. I tried it and I felt there was a difference in performance and gas mileage, just slight but enough for me to notice. I am doing 5K now with synth as some of the older members have recommended. Expensive and like I said there was only a slight change in performance going 15k, but I think the car will be healthier in the long run with more frequent changes. If you don't have the money to change it that frequently you definitely won't experience any serious issues doing it 15k, 5K is more of a pref thing. I intend on keeping it for as long as possible so I am really focused on taking good care of it.

I use amsoil with a 4-5k interval. Sometimes the oil isn't even black when its changed, I could go way longer.

thanks for the advice guys, also do they sell amsoil in general auto stores(ex. autozone or pepboys) or is that by order only?

**** I wish. Unless a local dealer can be found you gotta order directly from the website. Mobil1 or valvoline are pretty good too if your not willing to spend the extra dollars.
