Default System Disable?

Doing the timing belt this weekend, and I want to know if disconnecting the battery will disable the airbag system. Is there still a secondary backup for the system when there is no battery. If there is how do you disable it so when I remove the front bumper the airbags dont go off. I know most cars if you disable the battery the system is dead but only had the car for 6 months. If you do dissable the battery where can I find the radio code? In the owners manual? Thanks guys.

well the radio code should be in the manual not in the big one but in a little skinny one on the first page. if it is correct. i had to go to audi and pay 40 bucks to get the right code cuz the one i had was wrong.

Yes if you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery after ten minutes all energy is discharge from the system. It only takes .1 of a volt to activate an airbag. They say to allow ten minutes to make sure no power is stored anywhere but I don't see how it would be "stored" but that is what is recommended.

You don't need to disconnect the battery to do the timing belt. There is no sensor in the bumper that sets off airbags.
