Do T Taps degrade signal quality? When using them to tap into a stock subs wires, do you just use the positive of the RCA cable?

Oh, and if you don't want to answer my question it's okay, but at least congratulate me on going from Newbiw to Rolling Start, okay? Thanx

I'm not exactly sure of what you are asking. So you want to tap into the stock amps' wiring? There will be a high a low and one common (ground).

Tapping into the stock amps wiring seems to be the easiest way to connect up an amp, no? Trying to go stock amp wires ---> RCA wire ---> Amp. I saw you, Jest, posted the wiring for the bose amp somewhere else, does it differ from the symphony II's? This whole thing is giving me a headache. Why not just have RCAs in the stock h/u?

the easest way to do this n a b6 is to use the factory sub wires, you run a t on them and wire it up to a hi lo converter which you connect to rca's, you cannot splice stock wires into rca's. the sub is on the rear decklid, you just pull down the wire clip going to the sub and connect to that. if you want i can take pics of how i did it.

That would be awesome Russianari. And greatly appreciated. There isn't noticable signal distortion with the converter?

Thanx Russianari, but all the flights from Germany to Jersey were booked. I'll just have to wait until you get the time to post the pics or until I get out of the Army... Just one more year in Iraq and I'm done! Yay.

ok, pics suck because it is hard to get too, ill try my best to walk you thru the process. and file is too large, ill post of fotki, here's the url: http://public.fotki.com/russianari/instal/
the first is my setup. pic 01 is taken while lying on my back in the trunk, its of the rear decklid. you can see the whole on the bottom of the pic, in the whole there is a clip and wires tapped into the existing ones. you must undo the clip from there, pic 02 gives you a little bit of a better view. once unclipped pull the wires and clip out of the bigger whole in the decklid, pic 03. once they are out tap into them and run cable through the decklid to one side of the trunk, run it down the side and into the hi lo.

Thanx a lot. Now I just need to mail to hurry with my amp. I swear waiting on mail is one of the worst things about living on an Army post in Germany. Since this is my first "improvement" on the Audi I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes.
