Default Tach Skipps

hey guys

who here has come across this problem..

my tach skips in rpms between 4500k and 5000k
it goes smooth till it hits then skips between then goes smooth past 5000k
and it doesn't matter if its a slow or fast rev
my ignition isn't modified

strange one there the system is electronic so no cables to snagg or catch it could be a poor ground at the back of the dash causing a power surge or it could be the turbo kicking in "if its got one" either way it doesn't sound serious enough to start going in to fix something that's not causing real problems
