I purchased my '99 A4 2.8 5 speed about a month ago and it's my first Audit. The tach reads about 4,000 rpm when driving at about 60mph, a friend of mine has the same car but it's a '98 and this morning he said that his tach reads about 4,000 when he's doing almost 100. I'm getting good gas mileage, around 25-26mpg at a combination of highway speeds between 70-75 and local driving.

So I'm assuming that my tach is off, can anyone confirm that? Also, if the tach is wrong, is there any way to recalibrate it?
