Default Taking off the line

Guys I'm having a problem with taking off the line. I launch at around 3000 rpm and you can hear the tire spin a little and then the car would jump. But after the jump it seems like all the power drops down and the rpms drop to around 1000 even though I'm pushing the gas pedal to the max.

Is this normal and I just need enough practice or anything wrong?

It's a 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro 5-Speed with an ugrated clutch.

Try launching at 5500-6000 rpm there you have enough power for smooth acceleration.Mine is quattro too(150hp) and I launch it at ~5500rpm,the car jumps(no tire spin)-rpm falls and keeps at about 4500 and straight to 6700 then I change to second, perfect launch every time with quattro :-).It`s strange that you have tire spin I can`t spin it only when it`s wet

If I launch it at that high rpm i don't have a fast take off. It feels like its over-reving and I have big time power loss.

Neutral droping if you don't care about your car but there is really no other way to do this in a slutomatic
