Tapping noise on my a4 1.8t

Please can someone help,my 2001 a4 1.8t has recently developed a knocking(tapping)noise,this only ocurrs at 80mph and above while accelerating,upto 80mph no noise atall,strange,any ideas?

haha, lifter tick is a DSM problem. but most likely would be happening below 80 mph. so i dont think that would be your problem. possibly a detonation issue.

Arite mate,yes the car was remapped about 3 months ago,using revo technik software?

your only gonna hear lifters at low rpm and mid to high load. not at 80 on the HW. find someone with a VAG and have them check your knock voltages and see how much timing you are pulling
