TB opinion
Ok, im going home this weekend from school. I have the ecs tb kit there waiting for me. Although my dad wants me to wait till thanksgiving break to replace the timing belt. I really want to do it this weekend so i wont have these misfires. HIs biggest fear is that something will go wrong/break and i will be screwed since its the weekend and i have to make the drive sunday night/monday. Is there honestly anything that can go that wrong when doing this?? Also i cant find writeups on the install, just multiple posts, if someone could give me a link that would be superb.
Also, if i changed the turbo myself, i should be about on par experiece wise to knock this project out in a day- day and a half?

timing belt is pretty midless, i did mine in 4 hours but thats cuz i had to run to ACE every 15 min to get the right wrenches and ****, just make sure you rotate it to TDC before you pull the old belt off, and then make sure you tighten eveythign to the right tourque and you shoudl be good, the hardtest part is just pulling the front end off, i didn't even undo the radiator hoses just pulled it like 2 feet away to get some room to get in there. but i would not mess with the turbo untill you have some time, because there is often some little things that will take a bit longer.
here is a write up for timing belt. http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng35.shtml

sounds like you'll be able to do it no problem. just make sure youhave the right tools. I know at least for the V6 you need to special tools that you have to get form Audi. (one holds the cams in place and the other does something I don't remember right now)
