Hi, new to the forums. If I buy this Audi, I might be here much longer
I came across a nice silver 1999 A4 for sale with 76k miles on it. Its fully loaded with leather, moonroof and everything else I think. I've haven't checked out the drivetrain thoroughly but is there anything I should know about this year/model? Anything especially problematic I should check the car for before I negotiate/buy? Any specific tips on this peticular year/model I should bring up to the dealer to drive the price down? They are a Honda dealer so I doubt they have anyone there who knows all that much about the specific tendencies of this car.

The 2.8 is a reliable engine, but is short on modifaction opportunities. If you are looking to mod, get a 1.8T. If you want a nice looking car that is pretty reliable for a german car, get a 2.8.
4th Gear
Its a good solid car.
Make sure the t-belt has been done, or plan on doing it soon after you buy it.
Also can look for play in the steering or noise in the suspension (control arms), all common problems at 76K.

If you are serious about buying it, ask for a 24 hour test drive so you can really get a feel for it if nothing obvious is wrong with it.
