i fell in love with sportback wagons a couple years ago, and i'm pretty young...i would LOVE the avant, imo they look better than the standard a4...they have to be lowered though..

the typical buyer of a hatchback is pretty young... and not many can afford an audi.
and no, Audi will not respond to the BMW 1 series with bringing the 2 door over. They didn't make a 2 door A4 now did they? The A3 has a very small market share, and that will not increase very much at all if they made a 2 door. Especially with VW moving into more high class markets... VAG can't afford to have 2 almost direct competitors.
Now a 2 door A4? Now we're talking, I seriously believe Audi needs one, and with their response to the US market by making the RS4 a sedan instead of Avant.... I can see it happening. I mean, the cabrio is 2 doors... so why the hell not?

 

a 2 door a4 would be nice or a 2 door A6 to go against the BMW 645

this lack of a 2 door A3 is heartbreaking... the 4 door looks like a wagon, for sure.
