Default Test Drove an 08 s4 Today!!!

Thing was an absolute beast. [:-]6 Speed. 340 horses at their full potential! It had the rs4 rims on. Noticed every single bump, highway joint and pothole x2! But that is the way of a true sports car. It turned on rails. Sadly, I am sure the mon paymnts and gas bill will be out of control.

Try it out. But you may be dissapointed by the ride quality. MAybe its because they were the RS4 rims (19 v 18s?) I was just shocked by all the bumps - they were jarring. Other than that, truly amazing car. exaust note was sweet. A real beast.

Boston is rough with anything bigger than 17. I'm sure the stiff suspension made it harsher too.

Mind if I ask where you drove around? If you're looking for an S4, stay away from Brookline Audi/VW.

+1
I test drove in Natick at Bernardi. Rte 9, 30 and back roads. I have heard to steer clear of Brookline. I have heard they are notoriously bad. I have had good experiences w/ Bernardi so far. But lets see how they are when I have to turn my lease in at the end of April - That could make or break the experience! I am looking at the S4, A3 3.2 DSG, 335xi and Infinity G35X.

I wanted an S4 so bad when I got my A4...but it wasn't practical for Boston. You going for another lease?

Not for the roads here. If it was Florida or Cali, maybe a different story. Going for another lease, but they may nail me. I have a small, barely noticabledent in the front bumper, a light scratch that runs the length of the car and a wider gash in the bumper. (that I tried to fix with 2 step touch up paint provided by the dealer.) It will be a miracle if I can get out of this one!

I have been extremely happy with the A4 though. You lease now? What do you drive?

I have an '08 S4 Avant in the garage and I absolutely love it! It replaced an '01 S4 and it's better in every way. It also handles the pot holes much better than the '01. I'm in San Diego and we've had big problems with the city budget for years. It really shows in the condition of our streets. I was actually kinda shocked and very pleased with the way the new car rides. I still have to keep a sharp eye out for the big holes, but I feel it's a more than fair trade off for the on-rails cornering it gives back. Oh yeah, and those brakes and V8 growl - fabulous!
