so im about to throw down the cash on a K04 and just bought a downpipe that fits the auto trans... im trying to decide between an HFC or a Testpipe but am not sure if im not flowing enough exhaust to actually need a testpipe becuase i know i need some backpressure to keep it working properly.

 

Test pipe is cheaper and if you dont have emissions tests id go for it. As long as you have less than 3" piping from the test pipe backwith a k04, i think youll be fine as far as back pressure goes. There are people with test pipes and 2.5-2.75" exhausts even with a K03 with no complaints.

 

i loved my testpipe .... as long as you dont have emissions Id pick up a test pipe

 

I used a custom 2.5" test-pipe with my Ko4 made a huge difference..

 

alright that sounds promising... CT has emmisions testing every two years... has anyone had experience with how strict they are with this, or is there anyway to slip them some cash at the local gas station or something?... and if they do find out at the gas station who does emmisions testing, do they report it or fine you?

 

ha your from CT.. I passed with the set up I had.. my was all custom..

HFC. itll keep you legal. plus you do need some back pressure for the K04.
