On the subject of potentially controversial opinions, I find clear corners to be a complete waste of time/money/effort. If that's where you want to spend your money, then more power to you.
WOW...that surprises me, I thought that was one of the few mods that 99% of the forum agreed on.

First of all, as long as you're not upgrading from two-piece to one-piece headlights, there's no money involved...just time and effort...and really, not too much of either. Clear corners was the first thing I did to my car and I LOOOOOVE it. But to each there own, and I'm certainly not going to discount the opinion of a man with a car as dope as yours. Although I do think the ambers look better on B6s than they do on B5s.

I have black on black, so the unpainted lowers are fine. Actually, I like the whole stock look. I especially hate rear spoilers, although the trunk lips are OK. But to me, the stock look is smooth and understated.

I like stock lowers!
I like painted lowers MORE!

Avant you didnt strike a nerve, you were telling us how you feel, so i responded with how i felt about your feelings. Its just a conversation remember?? I love your thread you have going here. You didnt need to take such offense to my reply. As I said, if you do the prep work right, spray painting can be "the right way" especially if you are saving $300. Im guessing you dont have the desire/initiative to do things yourself because if a "professional" doesnt do it, its not "the right way." Guess what, I am a proffessional so dont **** with me bitch! haha just kidding....
You attack with your replies, maybe thats why I took offense, and I continue to take offense with your last post. I do plenty of crap myself, no need for you judge anybody based on a thread, slow your damn role and we will be good. I just thought paint was better left to professionals, if a "decent" job is ok for you, and you are kosher with mediocrity, then shake that can up and have fun!

About desire/initiative, a few years ago I bought a Gravity Feed Pneumatic Spray gun and repainted the plastics on my CBR in my fathers garage with PPG Crimson Red, that job came out great! Is that an OK DIY project? Or does a real "Do It Yourselfer" only do it the cheapest way possible?

Yeah, I like the headlights stock. I prefer a mostly stock look with a few modest well chosen changes, just to make it my own. Right now I'm not planning any more exterior changes (but who knows what cool stuff people on this forum might come up with...)

hey Dani3l, take a look at these two pix...

the first one, if you look at the bottom of the car, you will see how below the doors it is a different color than the rest of the car (grey):

if you look at the second picture, you will see how the whole car is the same color.

i personally think painted lowers make the car look more solid and aesthetically pleasing. i think audi realized this too, which is why as of mid-2004, they started producing a4s with prepainted lowers from the factory.

there are only two things that should control what you do to your car:

1) what YOU want

and

2) what you can afford
