OK, I fixed it without replacing anything!! On the advice of someone on another forum, I disconnected the ECU, took off the TB cleaned it up AND opened up the TPS. I blew out the inside of the TPS with air. Put it all back together. It's been a little more than a day now. NO CODES!!
From now on, when I get a recommendation to replace something that isn't clearly broken, I'm going to remove it, clean it, inspect it. If all looks good, put it back and see if it works. Disconnecting the ECU while doing to work might help. Someone told me that ca reset the CEL better than disconnecting the battery. Not sure if it's true. Seemed to work in this case.
I was told that I needed a new TB. I could have spent 350.00. (650.00 at the dealer) For NOTHING. Come to the forum BEFORE you do any repairs that you are not 100% sure about.
