Default Throttle valve sticking

I have a 2001 A4 1.8 with a sticky throttle while idleing due to carbon build up. After using 2 bottles of the chevron valve cleaning solution, it still sticks. How difficult is it to clean the carbon out of the throttle area? Can it be a DIY for a novice?

Default RE: Throttle valve sticking

all you have to do is remove the hose with a flathead screwdriver. Then take a 5mm allen wench and take off the 4 bolts holding it on the manifold and then finally undo the hoses and plugs in it. Rather simple.

Then with it off, spray the tb with tb/carb cleaner, the grim will melt away. When it dries, you can reinstall it.
