you hit it on the head ( people just don't think ) and that's acceptable because they are not tuned in to autos like a bank clerk only has time for money and I only have time for cars and the money of course but we could extrapolate on this

 

Yes part of the sub-frame blocks the oil pan. The bentley manual says that you have lift the engine to remove the oil pan.
