my battery meter reads a consistant 14 volts. does this mean that its time for a new battery since 12 volts would be normal i think... thanks!

 

mine is at 14 all the time and it works fine. only get a new one if its not starting ur car

 

if you have a AAA membership, you can just call them and have a battery truck show up and test yours.

the'll give ya a print out with it's "health."

 

your battery meter? Are you talking about your voltage read out in the dash? That should run 14v while the car is running since thats what the alternator puts out.

Typical dead battery symptoms are a repeated clicking when you turn the key, or obviously a slow engine turn over.

 

o aright... i thought it should read 12 since the battery is a 12V. The car turns fine though so im all good. thanks for the advice!

 

A voltmeter will read at 13.8 volts with the car running. A battery fully charged will read 12.50 - 12.6 something if you check the battery by itself.
