Default Time for a question

2000 1.8tQ, APR chip, with 102K miles on it.

I purchased it used with about 75K miles . Oil was changed fairly regularly, likely with Dino from dealer.
Since I purchased it 8 months ago, I've changed every 5K miles with synthetic 5W-40 and Mann filters.

Engine makes some lifter noise. Looking through the filler, I don't see evidence of gross sludge, just the usual varnish.

What are the thoughts regarding doing an engine flush? Jiffy lube wallet flush...errrr, engine flush for about 75 dollars, a can of gunk engine flush, nothing?

Thanks

I wouln't take my car within 50 feet of jiffy lube! I've heard good things about seafoam for what it's worth.

Check your oil for smoothness. Remove dipstick , and rub oil between fingers. Remove oil refill cover. Remove some oil with a finger from the valve cover. If it's smooth your OK.

One thing not to sure how mechanicly inclined u are but you might be getting time for a new oil pump with that K on it you could buy some time buy taking the oil pan off and cutting the screnn out of the oil pick up

I'm OK with tools, but frankly don't have the time to do things myself anymore.

Oil looks OK.
