Default Timing Belt

This question goes to anyone that has changed their timing belt at an Audi dealer. How much where you charged to have your timing belt replaced. I am in the stages of doing it, but would like to have an estimate. Thanks

My dealer quoted me atleast $1,800. I'm doing it myself.

if you have the means(tools, workspace, basic automotive skills) and can follow instructionsdo it yourself. it's very, very easy. it just takes a good part of your day to do..

but when i got quoted for my B5 1.8t, dealer wanted $1200 for parts and labor. i said F-that and spent $250 on a kit from PureMotorsport, and spent a sunday on it.

Is it necessary to remove the whole front bumper and radiator for the timing belt change?

I just did mine last week. As soon as I got the car home. I did it with the guidance of an audi tech in my garage. He said if it was done by the dealer, $1600-$1800 easy .

An independent mechanic should charge around $800.

Water pump
Tensioner
Damper pulley
Ribbed belt
