I don't think I'm going to drive from TX to AL to replace the timing belt. I really want to do it myself. It looks like a very simple job. Just a lot of work.

So what fits the APU engine?

Where that black arrow it says AWD on mine. I couldn't see anything else apart from a sticker on the top of the valve cover at the back which says in German: "Motor-kennbauchstaben *AEB 329 611* beachten".

I didn't get to dig too much as I was in a hurry.

I went out again, took the cover off and tried finiding the cod eon the engine block but no luck. I cna't see anything.

I'm ordering an AEB kit. I just hope that I don't discover it doesn't fit when I'm standing there and the engine is in pieces.

What do you mean the chip is cheaper? I got a quote for a GIAC chip at a local place for $400 + $100 for labor.

Here is what they said:

THE PRICE FOR THE E.C.U. IS $400.00 & THE INSTALL LABOR IS $100.00.

I also noticed that the kit has an O-ring for the Intermediate Shaft. Where exactly is this O-ring being installed? (and please don't say "the Intermediate Shaft ").

What is the Intermediate Shaft?

Its like a hundred bucks cheaper to do the chip on the AEB, at least on APR's site.

The price for the chip is normal price of what you should pay.

Here is the DIY if you dont have it already.
