$600 is below the going rate and an excellent deal, if the technician is reputable. $1900 is a blatant rip-off.

timing belt kit 058198119b $204

timing belt tensioner 058109479b $235

ushally around 5 hours labour

these are also Canadian prices BTW

so even with a waterpump and unless it is 01 or newer when the water pump is external and does not need to be replaced there is no way it should be $1900 I would ask that dealer what they were replacing for $1900

That is not bad.

APtuning is a pretty good tuning shop with good mechanics and a number of project cars in the shop. I had them install my chip. They are good and reasonably priced if you are in the area.

that's more like our price range as well.

we don't rip people off like the dealers sometimes do!

btw, come and do all your winter servicing over the next month (our first month at the new shop) and get 20% off (has to include labor at our shop)!!

Hey dude, just DIY!!!, check out the walkthrough that was written. it's way easy, the only thing you have to remember to do is mark the crank gear and you'll be fine. it's very srtaight forward. mine took me from 4-8 on Fri and 12-4 on sat. now i bet I could do it in 3-4 hours . No hard wrenching, just need a set of torx bits and allen sockets
