I personaly have never had a problem launching... When i go, it lags for a split sec, then takes off.. I can certainly take a kia off the line LOL. But I probably only do that once or twice a week... There's really no need to be racing and launching in an automatic all the time. I usually drive pretty conservatively unless i feel like im about to get into a race. I swear im about to sell my nissan and get another 1.8t 5spd!!! I NEED IT. SO DO YOU!
5 spd, I thought your tiptronic could launch off the line with ease.

It does, but im thinking my split second lag is coming more from DBW than the auto tranny.... Even YOU have to deal with that one socal... Im not saying an auto is better than a 5spd though for racing.. It just i have my chipped 1.8t to back me up where my tranny "lags" when it comes to beating 5spd. 2.8's. HAahah We gunna do the virtual racer er what??

I cant understand why you would buy an automatic/tiptronic and expect the results of a manual/stick transmission, change it to a 1.8T "manual" and save money

Depending on if you do it yourself i would say no more than 300 bucks. I have a 97 so its dbc. But ive seen r32, 2000+ a4, have it done with major improvement on accel.

i agree with auDi18tq.there are 2 different driving modes on these cars, regular driving where this car is the biggest dog on earth or racing when its fast as hell.y'know there you are taking off from a light just normal, and the kia next to you just takes off,not racing either,so you step on it,it drops to first at 4200rpm,ya make a scene and its like gee,i'm racing a kia.
