I HIGHLY WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT but u can hold down the brake and rev the engine to a certian RPM and then let go of the brake doing somewhat of a launch start

Its called brake boosting and you should only use this at the track. the benifit is that you get higher revs as well as you leave the gate with boost. Making it better then a manual car launching. The other use of it is for techs to check the stall on a torque converter. Dont do it for more then 15 seconds or you run a serious risk of burning the tranny up. Other then that doing it for a few seconds before a launch is fine. But as a certified tech I dont recomend doing this from light to light.

i dont recommend this but i do it in my escort and escorts have one of the weakest auto trannys and my car seems to be holding up pretty good but throw it into netural then rev it to 3k hold it then pop it in to gear (dont cuss me out if u break ne thing) but that is one possible way. if ur FWD dont even bother cause itll make it worse lol. ORRR use the ebrake instead of the brake pedal.
this isnt a good idea at all, dont listen to this advice.

I personaly have never had a problem launching... When i go, it lags for a split sec, then takes off..
that is most likely due to your fire by wire. My 99.5 takes off pretty well for the low power it has.

how bad is it for you to do a brakestand with an auto to 2k rpm, with 2.8 auto.

bad if you do it all the time and for periods more then 15 seconds

yes, neutral dropping a car is not a good idea whether its an ecsort or a ferrari lol. there is no totally safe way to get rid of that lag with an auto. with a manual, just let the clutch out later but with the tip tronic u just gotta wait till 2500rpm's comes along and the turbo kicks in.

you actually can learn better with something like a truck, the long throws make you work it. then the transision to a sportyer car is quite nice.
