ok this is weird and maybe its just my car but when ever i start driving going from first to second my gears feel stiff and go clunk kinda like if were grinding, but once the tranny fluid heats up its nice and smooth. i do have a shoirt shifter on my car, anyone know whats going on.

Yeah that happens a lot, you need new synchronizers. But if you can still shift ok don't worry too much about it, just don't slam the gears.

my tranny has the same issue, although I suspect it isn't as bad as yours is from the sound of it. as long as you give the transmission enough time to synchronize naturally, you won't grind the 1-2 shift. just pause for maybe a half second between 1st and 2nd gear, and it should go in like butter, mine does anyway.
