i own a 2001 model and when i put the gear in drive and step on the gas the car 'jerks', it works finewhen i am driving, but when i stop and then step on the gas again it will 'jerk'.someone told me i will have to change the transmission is that true?

 

it could be torqu converter or axles deff bring it in and have a look the jerk is not good for anything regarless of what is actally broke.

 

Could be worn out engine mounts.

 

this car is located in trinidad, would it be different from the ones in the usa, it did go through a diagnostic at the dealers and i was informed that the transmission needed changing.

 

i am also experiencing a problem with the immobilizer, it keeps tripping off, i had to disengage it cause it was becomming a nuisance in the neighborhood.of course the dealers says that nothing is wrong with it. My car has been parked up for about two months now and i cant get any answers. Is there some international audi rep that i should be talking to. the dealer in trinidad wants to charge me 30,000.00TT to change my transmission.

 

Have it scanned with a vagcom and get the codes and post them back here. Could be a bad transmission, could be that the transmission fluid is low. Could be a bad solenoid.
