Default transmission problem, or not???

whats up guys, havent been on here for a while, ive beenswamped with workeveryday.....

however, i need some help on this one. When i drive my car (2001.5 A4tqm) in 4th or 5th gear.... lets say going about 55mph and i let off the gas my shifter starts movin back and forth for awhile. Especially when im down hill going 55 but let off the gas so im goin the same speed. I know it usually does that alittle bit but its starting to get bad where it moves a **** load! I wanted to see what you guys had to say since its hard to search for this problem.

So...something wrong with the trans? Thanks for any help

Our transmssions have a lot of slop, changing the tranny and snub mounts will fix most of it. There will still be a little slop to the tranny, if that bothers you, you can always install a custom brace on the tail of the tranny.

Syncro gears are wearing out, give it a few years and then you will need a re-build.

Sell it now, and buy a quattro. It'll be cheaper in the long run.........
