Hi, I just bought a 2007 A4 cabriolet 2.0t auto with 58k miles with exactly the same problem! got a P0706 code range sensor, when you clear it, drives great, then when code comes back runs horrible. I bought the Range sensor online and want to replace it, I have looked desperately for 2-3 days on the web looking for ANYTHING where this part is located on my transmission, but nothing. I came to this Forum hoping someone can please assist! Does anyone know where the Transmission Range Sensor is located??? I've looked all day for the Part to match it on my A4 and cannot see it ANYWHERE on the transmission! Has anyone performed this job..would Greatly Greatly APPRECIATE any help. Thank You!
I HAVE A 2002A4 1.8T
For those of you like me who are at least willing to take on a project like transmission range sensor.
well location of this is unfortunately inside the transmission. U will need to open up back end of the transmission cover. And Tom is right there. I sent in mine once I removed it to a place that fixes them for those of u that don't want to buy a new one for $1700 . Company is out of Florida. Module Experts.
However if there's a tcm code know that the PRND Lights on dash and how they all light up. That's caused by two magnets under shifter louver. Hope this helps.
