Hi guys I have a 2003 A4 and my trunk doesn't want to open. Neither does the button on the remote or the button on the door. The only way of opening is folding the rear seat and using the emergency lock thats inside. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Would be possible I locked the trunk and it wont open with any button? I know it sounds stupid but I have no clue what it could be.

 

just throwing this out there because my wife's nissan has it and I have no idea about the b6 - is there a Vallet button? or somthing similar to that, that would lock the trunk?

 

Have you tried putting the key in the lock?

 

Have you checked the battery on the remote not be working? You may want to try to reprogram it? You put the key in the ignition and turn it once to turn on the accessories( not start the car) and then hold down the (ether lock or unlock) button. I had to this when I replaced my car battery and my remotes stoped working like yours. Once I reprogrammed it worked fine.

My remote works fine except for the trunk button. Also the button in the driver side door for the trunk doesn't work so thats why I think it's not the remote.

For the vallet button thats what I'm looking to find out. It sure looks like that.

 

Have you tried inserting the key in the trunk lock and unlocking it manually?

Then try to lock with the remote and see if it works.

 

That's one more problem I've been having. Water seems to have gone in there and it burned the 2 light and it jamed the lock. I just haven't gone around to fix it.

When I put the key in that lock it doesn't even move at all.

 

OK. That helps. Sounds mechanical, that the lock is broken. Most likely it will need to be replaced.

 

No because I can unlock from the inside with the emergency unlock.

 

Hey, I have the same problem with my car. No big deal though I guess, I just have to unlock it manually with the key. Would like for it to work correctly though, so if you figure it out, please let me know. Thanks..
