Same issue here...

I click the trunk button and I can hear what sounds like a motor attempting to unlatch/open the trunk lid; same happens when I use the trunk switch in the driver's door. About 50/50, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. At least my key does trigger the latch.

Anyone have a suggestion? Oil, Change Lock/Motor and/or How To.

Guys I have the same problem and it began when my comfort control module located under the drivers seat got flooded. I have a 03 A4 the only way i can open the trunk is if i use the cliffor alarm remote i cant open it from the factory remote, from inside or maunally using the key. I chaecked all the fuses so it has to do something wit the factory alarm i belive.
