Default turbo question

I was told an easy way to get more power without going bt was to increase the exhaust housing and to increase boost. Has anyone heard of this before,it makes sense that letting more air out would help keep the turbo cooler and to run more boos. any feed back would help.

i wasnt changing any turbings just the side of the turbo that the exhaust flows through,i dont know if the would lower boost but that may be why he said to increase the boost after you do that but keeping the wastegate open longer.

you would be able to run the same boost at highter rpm, it would suck *** cuz you would have a bunch of lag

I think what your dude was saying, is that if you make the exhaust side of your turbos housing smaller it will increase boost pressure at lower RPMs. Smaller housing will decrease lag not increase it. But a smaller exhaust housing will decrease max boost so you will have to up the boost to compensate. If you do this you'll notice much better responce at lower RPMs.

No wait your guy said make it bigger and increase boost. better max hp horrible lag the guy above me is right you'll hate the lag. do it the way I mentioned. Much better turbo responce.

because with more area for the eshaust to cover it goes slower at first, the lag would be a bitch, what you really should do is a small hot side and a larger cold side to press more air in at the same rpm ya know, thats why there are such things as t03/t04 turbos t3 hot side t4 cold side more power less lag
