ok how do i explain? i have a 99 a4 quatro 1.8t, so i punch it and then it sounded like i had no exhaust. i pulled over and poped the hood, the turbo is red hot, and blue flames are coming out of my cat. what the hell is wrong? oh and its has 115k on motor.

No Im not sure I cant really tell you from that description. where was the blue flame coming out of was it making any noise. was there a power loss?

 

it sounded like i had no exhaust and the flames where coming out of the downpipe.

so it was super loud? you most like just had a broken exhaust. turbo chargers shoot fire out the tialpipes. thats just how they are.

 

but would that make the turbo red hot?
