Which turbo to select
Guys, I didn't find the exact answer on what to turbo to use in setup.
I have 2001 audi a4 1.8T quattro and whant to gain more hp than it have in stock.
I'm not planning to make a turbomonster, just want to build a reliable car not over 300hp in the future.
Here's the question.
Which turbo upgrade to implement. What the minimum number of modifications do I need on the first stage to change the turbo (do I need to change injectors, intercooler, etc).

lol, good question. Never mind what numbers you want to reach. How much money do you plan on spending?
From what I read, whenever it's a question of reliability, you're prob going to want to look at the K04.
K04 - $1600 (renn-art w/ programing and accessories)

How much to spend on the car depends on what do I get from this spendings. As I wrote in the first post I don't want my car to be over 300hp (It's not on the wheels hp) in the future. Now I want to clarify the difference (pluses and minuses) between various installations. Let's say for the initial start of work I have $1500-2000.
1. What the minimum number of mod's do I have to do to get around 240-250 on the first step with good potential for the future tuning.
2. What +/- between k04,gt28rs, t03/04 installations
3. Can I do without programming (with Apexi's AVC-R and S-AFC or maybe some other electronics), because I'm living not in the US, so programming is the main problem for me (it can be solved, but it's a problem).

Ok what it looks like your gunna want is a K04 set up with the j-31 file, you will need full exhaust to make full use of it and a FMIC (intercooler) set up, the intercoolers can run alot of money but you can do a cuztom set upand save a bunch.... but with that stuff you should have the power your lookin for
