Default Turbo Swapping???

hey, i'm new to the forum, not so new to this car. i have both a 98 2.8 30v and a 99 1.8t. right now i'm looking to swap out my stock turbo to something better, faster, stronger.... any recommendations? i can get a garrett t25/t28 kit with manifold wastegate bov fmi piping gaskets, just about everything for rediculously cheap and i can install or fabricate just about anything mayself.

just wondering how big i should go. technically i like the stock turbo but i want to upgrade due to boredum, so what way would you go, t3/t4? Ko4? or my suggestion? maybe something i havent thought of yet??

i'm also looking for a 3 gauge pod A pillar. i have a set of gauges but no where to mount them.. anyone know of a way to squeeze three gauges in an a4 withought it looking crowded????

If by "squeeze" you mean "cram" and by "crowded" you mean "ugly"... I think a 3 gauge A pillar pod would work. How cheap can you get those parts???

I always thought three gauges would look nice at a 45 degree angle where the front ashtray is. Just make them really clean, matching the rest of the interior like they are a stock part.

If you are into a t3/t4, talk to Jeff, and I think that is what TomRitt is doing too now. Maybe not. But the gt garrett series is always good. Depending on how much power you want, that will decide your turbo.

the 3 gauge pillar idea would look ok but like i said no one i know makes the pillar. so i was thinking of either putting 2 like the tt mounts theirs or trying the ashtray idea. the gauges are tinted but they glow red like the interior lighting so it pretty much would look factory if i can pull it off.

as for the turbo dilemma. i think i'm going with the t25/t28 kit. its cheaper than the other two and if after i get everything set up i don't like it i'll go back and start over again with something else. from there the t3 shouldnt be hard to install. and so on and so forth.

i'll try and post some pictures if i get bored
