Default Turbo timer, Chip and warranty question

i plan on buying an a4 in the very near future(a week or so..) and was wondering if anyone had any info on warranty and modified chips.. would that void the warranty? i know that most warrantys vary, but just wanted to get a general idea.. also, a turbo timer seems important to me, as i have log commutes to work and would feel better letting the turbo cool down, but would that void a warranty? </P>

also, how hard is it to install a turbo timer? anyone from northern california that can recommend a shop? or can help with the install?</P>

I wouln't think the turbo timer would void the warranty, but the chip will. In all cases it voids the warranty, but some dealers will "look the other way". I would callthedealership and ask them what they think about turbo timers thoughjust to be sure. <edited><editID>Jestnomen</editID><editDate>38082.7511111111</editDate></edited>

you Should get the APR chip that you can turn on and off . alls you have to do is hold the cruz. button and the chip is off and the dealer doesnt know you have a chip.<IMG onclick="AddSmileyIcon'smileys/smiley2.gif'" alt=Wink src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

GIAC has a socketed chip - which allows you to pull your aftermarket and put back your stock chip when you go in for service.
