uh oh...
After setting up my boost gauge I went out driving, and everything seemed to be working perfectly. I came back home and decided to plug in the gauge to power and ground it so that I could see it at night. After plugging it up to the fuse box my car wouldnt start. I checked all of the fuses and none look blown. I didnt change anything else... so I have no idea what it could be. I plugged in the vag com and saw 12 engine errors saying short to ground and open circuit... and clearly no fuel is being pumped to the engine. Does anyone know what could cause all these errors?
yea I tried... I just dont know what I could have done in the fuse box that would have caused that. All of the fuses relating to the engine starting are fine... yet no fuel is being pumped...
I may have found something....
RECALL
Defect Summary: On certain vehicles produced from september 2002 - march 2003, equipped with 1.8l turbo, 2.8l v6, or 3.0l engines, a change in the electrical motor components in the fuel pump can lead to an inoperative fuel pump and, ultimately, stoppage of fuel supply to the engine causing it to stall.
Consequence Summary: If fuel flow to the engine is interrupted, the vehicle could stall without warning and thus present a potential risk of crash.
Corrective Action: Dealers will install new fuel pumps free of charge. the recall is expected to begin on or about march 31, 2006. owners may contact vw at 1-800-222-8987 or audi at 1-800-822-2834.
My car fits into this range.. I know that my fuel pump is not pumping fuel to the engine.. and that it wont start... maybe I could have "changed someting about one of the electrical motor components" when I was plugging in the power line of my boost gauge. Does this sound like a possible cause?... If so should I call the dealer that I had my car towed to tomorrow and inform them of the recall and see what they think?

Fuel pump relay? pull the fuel pump fuse out and test to see if power is getting to the fuse box with a LED tester by touching one end toa fuse terminal and the other to a ground (bolt, chassis, nut). I'm not sure which fuse terminal so you may have to try both. Turn key on(don't need engine running) and if it lights up then the relay is working properly.

I hope thats not it then
