Well it does then it cuts off. It was flat bedded off to the garage, non dealer as i had a very bad experience with them. The problem is that the diagnostic equpment fails to find the issue.

Has anyone else had this problem. Its a A4 3.0 2003 cab

 

what diagnostic equipment are they using?

 

Could be a few things. If it doesnt acknowledge diagnostic equipment, then it could be a bad ecu. Hard to say.

 

do you have an aftermarket stereo? if so who ever installed it they have hard wired it instead of using a harness could have cut the K wire, which would allow to never be able to communicate with your car again.

 

Not sure what diognostic equipment they are using. No aftermarket sterio. I cant see it being the ECU as it starts up, fuel pump relay or Maf sensor is a possibility.

 

its an 03 car and you need CAN bus diagnostics the early type wont work on that car, VAG HEX-CAN 704 software free download

How should I go about asking the guys if they have the right equipment, I dont want to seem to be rubbing there faces in it so to speak.

 

Guess you should flatbed it to the dealer then, if they cant figure out the problem.

 

like I said I had a bad experience with the dealer, so much so I would never trust my car there again.

 

a mechanic wont be annoyed if you ask him/her what the diagnostic tool they are using just say your considering buying the VAG kit your self and they will fall over them selves to tell you
