UltraLED 6 LED wide angle vs focused bulbs

The passenger side UltraLED 6 LED bulb started flickering so I decided to swap out the existing units with the 'wide angle' version they also sell on the site to see if there is a difference or not.
Here is the UltraLED 6 LED focused bulb


Both of these bulb have a BA9X socket which fits perfectly into the OEM citylight socket

Here is the UltraLED 6 LED 'wide angle' bulb as you can see it looks exactly like the focused bulb but has the tip of the bulb shaved off



The wide angle bulb is on the left, focused bulb is on the right. You can see that shaving of the tips off the LEDs does in fact increase the visible light angle. The wide angle bulbs do help 'light up' the reflector a lot better than most LEDs.
