under hood trim
This is going to sound incredibly ****..... but..... my A4 went into the dealer last week (only three weeks after I bought it but never mind) as the washer pump had died.
They replaced the pump, but when I popped the hood yesterday I noticed that a panel which covers the right side just below the washer reservoir and rad expansion tank was missing.
I can even see where they broke it off as there is still a piece of plastic under the bolt to the right.
Anyway, I visit the dealer asking for a replacement and he tells me that my vin does not show there being a cover... I am sure there was and even the missus says there was something there before.
Starting to think I am going crazy..... does anyone know?
I have the 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro.
Thanks

tell them to go **** themselves, and demand they replace it saying you know damn well it was there. Pep Boys broke the fan shroud doing a waterpump on my Dakota once, then called me and told me it was broken. I told them that they were replacing it for free, because I knew damn well it was in perfect condition when I brought it to them, and it was... hell, I was putting water in the truck the whole way there.
Yeah, I would love to know the part number if anyone knows it, also is there such a thing as a parts cdrom, I had one for a car I had a few years back..... saved hours trying to explain to the dealer parts dept what it was I wanted!
Also, I see Haynes dont do a manual for the A4.... is there an alternative?

they do have a manual for the A4 but is crap - buy a Bentley manual - just search it on eBay you can pick a used one up for 50-60 or a new one for a little over $70 - well worth the $.
Edit:
Sorry didn't see your year - don't know if they have one for you
good luck

I will take a look.... just out of interest does anyone know if I am correct in thinking there was a panel there? If anyone has a 2003 A4 3.0 quattro, I would love to find out and a part number would be great also.
thanks
thanks
