Default v8 in a a4

has anyone try to put a audi v8 in a a4. if so what problems did you encounter and what was the power out come. i have a buddy that wreaked his 1998 a6 it had the quattro with turbo thinkink on putting it in my 98 a4 quattro with a v6. if this isa long and costly process i'm going to put a supercharger for mine and buy another a4 with bad motor and try it then.

If audi barely shoehorned that V8 in the B6/B7 it would be damn near a miracle if you get it in the B5. But then you'd have huge understeer issues with all that weight hanging over the front end...wait a second, you said it had the turbo, that means its the 2.7t engine. Thats the twin turbo V6 S4 engine. Either way it would be $$$, not even worth it.

a guy put a b6 4.2l V8 in a B5 S4. it required major modification to the engine bay, among other things..

it is not worth it though. too much work for a heavy *** underpowered motor. if you're going to swap any motor into the a4, then do a 2.7t swap.

but you're not going to do it anyway, so why ask

Yeah, I don't really see a point in anyone doing this when you could use that money to just buy an S4. Unique mods are fun and all but I cant imagine the amount of headaches this engine swap would bring. Don't waste your time or money...
