Vacuum Door Lock Problem
I just picked up a 96 A-4 and the rear passenger door will not open. The Bentley manual I have is no help with troubleshooting this problem, just explains how the vacuum system works and how to take it apart. Since I can not get the door open, I can't pull the vacuum door lock system apart. Anyone ever experience this problem? Is there a way to manually open the door so that I can remove the door panel and inspect this door for a vacuum leak ?

James,
does the **** not move at all??? even if you yank it hard?? I had the exact same problem. I i honestly thought that i would have to leave it the way it got stuck, since you can't check the mechanics inside the door if you can't open it in order to remove the cover! Your stuck! I drove it atround for two weeks and asked anyone possible.... after two weeks it suddenly worked again, I removed the cover to see what might have caused the problem, but could not find a thing. So: still no clue, but its working. Dont give up your hopes, just wait!

well, let me know what they have to offer.
maybe you should just give it some time.
just wait for it to open and give it a good look. would be wicked curious what the deal could be.
Did anyone have the same problem ever?
