hey guys, was thinking baout purchasing a VAG Com. was wondering. will this show error codes if i dont have a check engine light on. like a vac leak? thanks

 

not one person in this forum ever used a vag com? no one can answer the question. i find that hard to believe, u guys are good at what you do.

 

bro you'll get a solid answer once the west coast wakes up. haha. but yeah from my experience with VAG com you will be able to see vac leaks and clear codes that don't give you a CEL.

the tricky part is knowing what block to monitor. there's a writeup about it here somewhere. I know there's other stuff you can do with it also. like opening your windows with your remote and auto lock after a certain amount of time and stuff like that. search and you will find.

 

thank you kind sir, but do u you have a recommendation for a vag com. i have seen one for 70 bucks with the software, but then i have seen pro kits for 600. whats the difference

The one for $70 is garbage.

The only 2 places that I know of to get the real deal is either Ross Tech themselves or go to AWE Tuning
