I'm looking to get one of those vag-com systems for my 02 A4 but I'm not sure which one I need. I know you need different ones to do different things. All I want to do is make my windows go up and down with my remote.

ok i looked it up. im still unclear as to which one i need.would i be able to change the codes with the lowest package, the vag-com license with key-usb interface?

 

If thats all you need, I believe you just need the cheapest kit available, the 229.00 or 249.00 if you want USB...(get the usb, seriously)

You can go on ebay and buy the cable for like $20 bucks then just pay $99 for a software license off the site, but it will only run the older version of the vag-com software. For a B5 I dont think the newer software does anything over the old stuff anyway. But the B6 Im not sure.

 

I have an ebay cable and version 3.11 and it works fine for me. Might want to email ross-tech to see what they have to say

 

I don't think you will get an answer from ross-tech. Basically you are asking them what cheapo cable to buy rather than their product. Your email will probably go into their delete box.
