Hey Guys,

Ok, so I used the ol' VAG-COM to find out about the CEL on my car, and this is the response..... does anyone know what this is, and how severe? Or, can I just clear the code and move on??

on a side note, looks like my battery died as well. How difficult is it to replace??

Many people have gotten that code when their stock Bypass/Diverter Valve was dying on them.
Also a possiblility that you could have a vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum hoses for cracks, leaks, etc...

VAG-COM is a computer software tool used to diagnose the engine and electricals within the car. It is used via your laptop and a link to the car's ecu. It's the best investment, dollar for dollar, that you can do for your car.

CEL = Check Engine Light

Hey Brrman or Imolas4: How difficult is it to replace the bypass/diverter valve? (I haven't looked at my Bentley Manual yet), I'm just trying to get a feel for what type of job it might be. Where is it located?

A 20 minute job doing it the first time. Just make sure you don't break the mini hose clamps unless you have zip ties or other clamps to replace them with.

I would rank it as a 1.5 on a scale of 1 - 5 (5 being most difficult) for a first timer
