Default vibration after snub install

I'm getting much more vibration than I did with the old snub. I tightened everything up as hard as I could. Is is possible it's too tight? What else might be causing it? It's a greedspeed snub in case that matters.

Give it some time to settle in.. But you can adjust the housing that the snub sits in around the spindle it goes on. Try that too if it doesnt get better after a week or so.

Usually its the APR snub that causes vibrations, and thats normally only with a tip tranny. Are you tip or manual?? Never heard of a problem with the greedspeed snub.

What is causing the vibration is that the snub mount is touching the side of the housing on the engine.

The snub mount should have about 1/16" to 1/8" clearance all the way around. In other words, the snub mount should not be touching the housing. You will either have to adjust the housing or shave down the snub mount so that they will not be touching.

The snub mount is only meant to stop the front to back rotation of the engine when you accelerate or decelerate. It's not supposed to support the engine all of the time...the (2) motor mounts do that. This is why the stock snub mount is much smaller.

onepoint8tee, are you saying that you believe the GreedSpeed snub would not cause the same vibration issue in the TIP?
I passed on the APR snub because I was told by a trusted source that it causes a nasty vibration for us TIP owners, but that made me think it was ALL snub mounts affect the TIP this way. Not true?

I heard that the greedspeed doesnt cause vibs with tip. I think brrman has a greedspeed snub with tip and he had no complaints.. Maybe that was another member.

The Greedspeed and PureMS snub mounts are made of a softer material; therefore, they have less vibration issues associated with them.

Not to mention they're cheaper... I'd hate to pay $50 for a piece of urethane
